NEW YORK - Canadian Luke Willson was a surprise fifth-round selection by the Seattle Seahawks Saturday afternoon at the NFL draft.

Willson, a tight end who played college ball in Houston at Rice University, is from LaSalle, Ont., just outside Windsor.

NFLdraftscout.com ranked Wilson the 18th best tight end in the draft and tagged him as a potential pick for the seventh and final round.

I was sitting at my house here in Canada, Willson said on a conference call with writers. I have some family over, a couple of close friends over. Its been getting a little anxious, Ill be honest.
