Leave it to the Dallas Cowboys to elicit by far the loudest roar from the pro-Giants/pro-Jets audience by midway through Night 2 of the NFL draft.

Former NFLers announced all Round 2 picks on Friday night at Radio City Music Hall. When former defensive lineman Tony Casillas (1986-97) stepped to the podium he, well, worked up the crowd.

“With the 47th pick in the 2013 draft, the Dallas Cowboys …,” Casillas said, pausing for effect before ramping up the volume and emphasis, “… and STILL America’s Team …”

The place exploded.

Boos, catcalls, screams, yells, finger-points, the works.

Casillas ate it up, and then continued:

“… select Gavin Escobar, tight end, San Diego State.”

As much as Casillas loved it, so too did every Cowboys fan watching across North America.
