Darrelle Revis says, when it comes to the Jets, he won’t carry a chip on his shoulder.
But, he didn’t say anything about that boulder he’s got stuck up beside one of his ears.
“I don’t have nothing to prove to the New York Jets,” Revis said, Tuesday after being traded and signing a six-year, $16-million-a-season contract with Tampa. “I don’t have nothing to prove to nobody ... I don’t have a chip for the New York Jets.”
His contentious relationship with the Jets continued to the end, calling GM John Idzik a liar. Revis said Idzik told him as late as last Wednesday, that he wasn’t going anywhere.
“I definitely feel like I haven’t gotten the truth,” Revis told New York writers.
“Anyone can sit there and tell you to your face, ‘Yeah, you’re going to be a Jet.’ But what’s the truth out of it? Idzik told me I was going to be a Jet. He said it when we first talked and he said it last week, too. I know it’s a lie.
“They give you the corporate answer inst
