Say one thing about Marc Trestman: He doesn’t waste time making an impression.
A day after taking over as Bears head coach he announced Matt Cavanaugh as quarterback coach, tweaked talk that Brian Urlacher could be history, hired a running back coach and ... oh yeah, sparked speculation Tebowmania could hit the Windy City.
The hiring of Cavanaugh, and selection as Skip Peete to become running back coach, might — like Trestman’s own arrival — raise some perplexed eyebrows.
Cavanaugh spent the past four seasons as the Jets’ quarterback coach, watching Mark Sanchez crash and burn.
