Here is the sorry legacy that faces owner Jerry Jones in what promises to be an off-season of some upheaval for the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys, so-called “America’s Team”, have won exactly two playoff games since they last won a Super Bowl in 1995, 17 years ago. They beat Minnesota in a wild-card game in 1996 and beat the Eagles in a wild-card game in 2009. In between, they lost seven post-season games in a row.

Over the course of the past three seasons, the Cowboys have not once poked their heads above .500 and have failed to make the playoffs each year.

On his weekly radio program Wednesday, Jones’ frustration was obvious.

“I can assure our fans this,” he said. “It’s going to be very uncomfortable from my standpoint, it’s going to be very uncomfortable for the next few weeks and months at Valley Ranch.
