In the illustrious history of the National Football League, there have been no shortage of guys with the last name “Morris” who made their living lugging the pigskin.

There was Mercury Morris of ’72 Dolphins fame.

There was Joe Morris, the diminutive scatback of the New York Giants.

There was Bam Morris, he of the Pittsburgh Steeler ground-and-pound attack.

And now there is Alfred Morris, perhaps the biggest Cinderella story of them all.
