NFL coaches on the firing line
Bills' Gailey just one of many who could go
By ROB LONGLEY, QMI Agency

It could be all over for Chan Gailey as head coach of the Buffalo Bills after yet another disappointing season. (Reuters)

Will blackout Sunday in Buffalo transition into Black Monday for Bills head coach Chan Gailey?

Don’t bet against it. And don’t bet against the day itself being a wild one for coaches around the league.

Like so much of the NFL, certain days on the calendar become bigger by the year and the day after the regular-season finale — almost officially known now as Black Monday — is becoming one of the more notable news days going.

And given the massive disappointment by a number of teams in the soon to be completed season, the rumour mill suggests the carnage could be particularly gruesome. From prominent coaches such as the New York Jets’ Rex Ryan to lower profile men such as Cleveland’s Pat Shurmur, as many as 10 could face the axe.

He has to prove himself before I decide.
