Chalkboard session: Kaepernick
Breaking down a key playBy JOHN KRYK, QMI Agency
Perhaps the primary reason the San Francisco 49ers switched starting quarterbacks last month is that Colin Kaepernick provides more of a downfield passing threat than his predecessor, Alex Smith. Another reason is that Kaepernick can make dazzling plays with his feet. Case in point, last Sunday in Miami. The situation: The 49ers lead the Dolphins 20-13 with 2:20 remaining, and San Francisco has the ball 3rd-and-5 at midfield. The Niners come out in a robust package in the pistol – with three tight ends, one running back and only one wide receiver, flanked left. |
