Saints' Vitt caught in crosshairs of Bountygate
By BILL LANKOFF, QMI Agency

Evidently the NFL, and in particular its commissioner Roger Goodell, doesn’t ascribe to the “let sleeping dogs lie” theory.

Just days after former commissioner Paul Tagliabue lifted the suspensions of several Saints’ players in the Bountygate, instead of letting the scandal die, the league appears to be reloading and retargetting.

The man in the crosshairs now appears to be Saints interim coach Joe Vitt. He faced allegations for the first time Thursday that defensive coordinator Gregg Williams (who is still on indefinite league suspension and the architect of the bounty program) wanted to abandon it but that Vitt objected.

Do you think Chad Johnson can still play at a high level in the NFL?
Yes, he is a talented receiver
No, he is too old to play
CFL might be a better option
