It’s a theater of the absurd and must-see entertainment wrapped into one tidy package, and now it’s open to NFL fans.
Super Bowl Media Day, held the Tuesday before the game, isn’t a spectator sport but the NFL is allowing fans to take in the media interview sessions with all players by selling seats to media day for the second time. Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, site of Super Bowl XLVII on Feb. 3, will be overrun by thousands of media members from all types of media on Jan. 29.
Players from the participating teams are interviewed at individual stations on the playing field.
Fans can now attend for $25 and take in media day as well as stick around to see portions of the field preparation. An NFL release also said “player and cheerleader appearances” are scheduled and fans have access to stadium concessions.
