Joe Flacco raised a few eyebrows last year when he intimated that he was an elite quarterback and deserved to be recognized as such.
Top-five stuff. One of the Brady Bunch. Manningville.
Well, this weekend, he has an opportunity to see a few of those skeptical eyebrows drop — and, prove his point.
The Baltimore Ravens are poised to deliver the killing blow to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ final chance to overtake them in the AFC North. In the past, the Ravens have proven to be one of the AFC’s better teams but somehow have always fallen short of lofty expectations. Even with the absence of Ray Lewis, this year’s edition of the Ravens have had Super Bowl hopes. They can take the first step in that direction this weekend by eliminating the pesky Steelers from their rear-view mirror.
A Pittsburgh loss would end any hope of catching the Ravens, not to mention if coupled with wins by Cincinnati and Indianapolis, also cripple their chance of becoming a wild card entry.<
