Jones approaches Romo about extension

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is interested in signing quarterback Tony Romo to a contract extension, and has conducted preliminary talks toward that goal, according to an ESPN.com report.

Romo’s salary-cap charge doubles to $16 million next season, which is a likely factor in the Cowboys’ motivation to get a deal done. His contract expires after the 2013 season.

While it’s tough to imagine Romo in another uniform, a deal could take a while to complete, according to NFL.com and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

“There’s nothing really going on,” the source told Rapoport.

Is first round pick Eric Fisher a decent choice by the Kansas City Chiefs?
  Yes.
  No.
He has to prove himself before I decide.
