NFL needs to cut deal with referees

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - Pick up the phone, Mr. Goodell.
If two brutal calls in the first quarter of the Bills-Redskins pre-season game Thursday night are any indication, replacement NFL officials are going to be a disaster.
The NFL has locked out its regular refs and is using replacements until a new CBA with the NFL Referees Assocation can be struck.
The two laughably bad calls at Ralph Wilson Stadium:
• The Bills clearly downed a punt at the Washington 4-yard line. The call? Touchback! It took a video replay for the bunglers to bring the ball back from the 20 to the 4. What were they thinking?!
• Bills wideout Stevie Johnson was literally shoved to the ground upon making his break on a post pattern long before the ball arrived. No penalty for pass interference.
The longer these jamokes are allowed to ref, the faster the league's bargaining position dissolves.
Git 'er done, Roger. Now.
