Eagles tight end Brent Celek was an uninjured passenger in a DUI car crash in Philadelphia Thursday morning, according to police reports.

Celek was with a driver who was going too fast and hit a concrete barrier at 2:30 a.m. The driver was arrested on DUI charges after failing field sobriety tests, according to reports.

Celek does not face charges in the incident, which took place at a highway exit near the team’s stadium, but still faults his decision making in the matter.

“I did not know that the person driving the car was over the legal limit, but that’s not an excuse. I put my life in danger and was in a vehicle that put other people’s lives in danger, and that’s just not the way I operate. It will not happen again,” Celek said in a statement, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Celek had 62 receptions for 811 yards and five touchdowns last season.
