Oakland Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain was arrested Thursday on assault charges stemming from an incident in Alabama in which a man was assaulted and gunshots were heard.

According to a police report in Decatur, Ala., McClain held a gun beside a man's head with the man begging him not to shoot. The police statement alleges McClain moved the gun near the man's ear and fired a shot. No one was shot but police said a man drove himself to a hospital where he was released after treatment.

McClain was held on $2,000 bond on charges of assault, menacing, reckless endangerment and firing a gun within city limits.

McClain, a 2010 first-round draft pick, was reported to be in town to attend his grandfather's funeral.
