NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans Saints and Mercedes-Benz have reached an agreement on a 10-year naming rights deal for the recently renovated Superdome.

The new name of the iconic stadium will be Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

The agreement was officially announced at a news conference Tuesday.

"I am thrilled to be able to announce a winning and long-term partnership between the Saints and Mercedes-Benz," New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson said. "The Mercedes-Benz brand represents the very best in its industry and we believe that it is a perfect fit for this stadium, one of the world's greatest sporting venues."

For the first time in the stadium's 36-year history, the building will be known by something other than the Louisiana Superdome.
