PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Eagles and running back Ronnie Brown agreed to terms on a one-year contract Tuesday.

Brown, the second overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins, spent the first six years of his career in Miami and has rushed for 4,815 yards with 36 touchdowns.

He ranks third on the Dolphins all-time rushing list behind Larry Csonka (6,737) and Ricky Williams (6,436), and his 15 100-yard rushing games tie him with Csonka for second in Miami history.

He also played a significant role as the quarterback in the Dolphins' "Wildcat" offense and has completed 4-of-12 pass attempts for 63 yards and two touchdowns in his career. Also, he has caught 184 passes for 1,491 yards and two scores.

"Ronnie is an all-around running back with a versatile skill set," said Eagles general manager Howie Roseman in a statement. "He can run the ball, catch it, and does very well in pass protection. He'll add some good size to our backfield and he's a good character guy. We think he'll be a tremendous compliment to LeSean [McCoy] and the other young backs on this team that we really like. You can never have enough good running backs in this league and we are happy to have Ronnie join us."
