RENTON, WA - The Seattle Seahawks have signed kick returner Leon Washington to a multi-year contract.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported on Tuesday that it is a four-year deal, and a Twitter post from Washington's agent Alvin Keels confirmed a deal was in place.

The Seahawks revealed the move on their own Twitter account, but no terms were released.

A 28-year-old Florida State product, Washington recovered from a gruesome compound leg fracture suffered in the 2009 season with the Jets to rack up 1,461 yards and three touchdowns on 57 kick returns in 16 games with Seattle in 2010, with an average of 11.3 yards per return on 22 punts.

He also posted 100 rushing yards and a score on 27 carries and added nine receptions for 79 yards for the Seahawks, his first with the team.
