JACKSONVILLE - Safety Donovin Darius, who last appeared in the NFL during the 2007 season, signed a one-day contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars and then officially retired on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old Syracuse product played with the Jags from 1998-2006, starting in all 115 games which he played for the franchise.

His last year with Jacksonville was cut short due to a broken leg, the recovery from which limited him to three games with the Dolphins in '07.

Over 10 NFL seasons, the Camden, New Jersey native racked up 389 tackles, 14 interceptions and two sacks in 118 contests.
