New York - NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith met Monday in New York to discuss "a range of issues related to a new Collective Bargaining Agreement," according to a joint statement.

The two sides have agreed to conduct a formal bargaining session with both negotiating teams on Saturday in the Dallas area.

They have also agreed to a series of meetings, both formal bargaining and smaller group sessions, to be held over the next few weeks in an effort to reach a new labor agreement by early March.

The current CBA expires on March 4.
