CHICAGO - Chicago Bears defensive end Julius Peppers was reportedly fined $10,000 by the National Football League for an illegal hit on Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday.

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Peppers, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, was docked for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Rodgers.

Peppers was given a 15-yard penalty on the play.

Green Bay won the contest 21-14 and will meet the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV on February 6 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
