KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel has been added to the AFC Pro Bowl roster as the replacement for the injured Tom Brady of New England.

Brady will skip the Jan. 30 game in Honolulu because of a foot injury that will require surgery.

Cassel, who replaced an injured Brady as the Patriots quarterback early in the 2008 season, just completed his second year as Kansas City's quarterback. He started 15 games in 2010, throwing for 3,116 yards with a career-high 27 touchdowns and just seven interceptions to help the Chiefs to the AFC West title.

The last Chiefs quarterback selected for the Pro Bowl was Trent Green in 2005.

Cassel will join teammates Brian Waters, Jamaal Charles and Dwayne Bowe in Hawaii.
