KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs have signed free agent wide receiver Kevin Curtis.

The AFC West champions also added tight end Cody Slate to the practice squad and placed safety/cornerback Donald Washington on injured reserve.

Curtis, 32, played just two games during the regular season, both with the Miami Dolphins, and recorded one reception for six yards. He underwent surgery in September for testicular cancer.

The Utah State product has caught 253 passes for 3,297 yards and 20 touchdowns in 81 career games.

Slate attended Chiefs training camp in 2010 after signing with the club as an undrafted free agent.

Washington appeared in 12 games for the Chiefs this season, recording 22 tackles before suffering an ankle injury.

The Chiefs will host Baltimore on Sunday in an AFC Wild Card game.
