BEREA, Ohio -- Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis missed his third straight practice on Friday, but head coach Eric Mangini is optimistic the breakout star will play in Sunday's season finale against the Steelers.
"We will see [Saturday] where he's at and just take it from there," Mangini said. "[We] figure[d] another day of rest will give him the best chance to be effective on Sunday."
Hillis, 24, had a surprisingly productive season for Cleveland after coming over in an off-season trade from the Broncos. In 15 games, he carried the ball 264 times for 1,164 yards and 11 touchdowns and also caught 60 balls for 474 yards and two more scores.
