NFL dragging their feet on Favre

It's good to see that commissioner Roger Goodell is doing an O.J. Simpson regarding the league's investigation of embattled Minnesota quarterback Brett Favre.

Remember how Simpson, following the not guilty verdict in the murder of his wife Nicole, vowed to find the killer and bring him to justice? How's that one going?

Regarding Favre, the NFL isn't far behind.

When asked how the Favre investigation was going on Monday prior to the Bears-Vikings game, Goodell was less than forthright.

"I'm not going to put a timetable on it, other than I did say I hope it'll be by the end of the regular season," Goodell said. "We want to be as thorough and serious about it and reach the right conclusion."

The investigation involves allegations by Jenn Sterger that Favre, when he played for the New York Jets in 2008, sent her inappropriate text messages and lewd photos of his 'junk.'

Two more weeks of foot dragging to go and the NFL and Favre will be in the clear.

Or maybe they're waiting for O.J. to arrest one of his current cell mates for the murder first.
