TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday placed rookie quarterback Max Hall on injured reserve with a left shoulder ailment and signed quarterback Richard Bartel.
Hall, 25, started three of the six games he played this season. The BYU product threw for 370 yards on 39-of-78 attempts, one touchdown and six interceptions.
Bartel joins the Cardinals after a stint with the UFL's Sacramento Mountain Lions this season. He had spent the preseason with the Washington Redskins and was among the final cuts on Sept. 4.
The 27-year-old served as Washington's third quarterback for the final six games of the 2009 season. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
