NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Embattled Titans quarterback Vince Young has apologized to Jeff Fisher via text message, the Tennessee head coach confirmed Wednesday.
Fisher didn't reply to Young's text and declined to share what his quarterback wrote.
"I'm not going to go into that," Fisher said. "He texted me and apologized."
Young was placed on injured reserve Tuesday with a flexor tendon injury in his right thumb that will require season-ending surgery. He has come under fire for an outburst following Sunday's overtime loss to Washington.
Asked if he would have preferred an apology in person from Young, Fisher stopped short of answering yes or no. But it was easy to tell which way he was leaning.
"I'm not a real big text guy," Fisher said. "I'm not really into this new-age stuff. I don't twit or tweet, but I think face-to-face is a man thing."
The Titans (5-5) will start rookie quarterback Rusty Smith against the Texans.
