CINCINNATI -- Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis announced Thursday that right tackle Andre Smith is out for Sunday's game at Indianapolis.

Smith suffered another foot injury during Wednesday's practice which may put him out for the remainder of the season if surgery is needed.

Lewis said the decision for surgery won't be made until next week.

Smith injured his foot while participating in a pass protection set where he suffered a stress fracture of the fifth metatarsal. The two-year player fractured the fourth metatarsal during his rookie season and had it surgically repaired during the offseason.

That injury kept him out the first 10 games last year.

The 2009 first-round pick has started four games this season for Cincinnati after he earned the spot when right tackle Dennis Roland struggled last month. Roland will start in Smith's place against the Colts.
