RENTON, WA - The Seattle Seahawks announced quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has been cleared to return to practice and will likely start Sunday's key NFC West tilt against Arizona.

Hasselbeck suffered a concussion during a 33-3 loss at Oakland in Week 8, causing Charlie Whitehurst to make his first NFL start last Sunday against the Giants, who rolled to a 41-7 victory to put the Seahawks into a tie with the Rams atop the division at 4-4.

In seven stats this season, Hasselbeck has a mediocre 70.8 quarterback rating, throwing seven interceptions to six touchdowns while completing 57.2 percent of his passes.

In order to add depth at the position, Seattle signed former Bills starter J.P. Losman, who was cut by the Seahawks at the end of training camp.

Center Chris White was also re-signed, while wide receiver Antonio Robinson and cornerback Josh Pinkard were added to the practice squad.

Also expected to return this Sunday for the Seahawks are defensive tackle Brandon Mebane (calf) and tackle Tyler Polumbus (knee), though the status of rookie tackle Russell Okung's sprained ankle is still up in the air. Okung has missed the past two losses due to the injury.
