The Indianapolis Colts have placed wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez on injured reserve because of a left knee injury.

Gonzalez was hurt during last Mondays game against Houston when he was tackled out of bounds.

The fourth-year pro out of Ohio State had just returned to the lineup last week after missing five games with a high ankle sprain suffered in the season- opener against Houston. He caught four passes for 55 yards last week against the Texans after recording one reception for 12 yards in the first game of the year.

Gonzalez also had a knee injury that ended his 2009 season after just one game. He had 37 catches in his rookie year of 2007 and hauled in 57 passes during the 2008 campaign.

The Colts promoted running back Andre Brown from the practice squad to fill the active roster vacancy. Brown appeared in three games for Denver earlier this season before being waived in October.
