EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre missed practice for a second straight day on Thursday.

Despite the injury, the 41-year-old future Hall-of-Famer said he will wait until Friday to see if the "swelling and pain subsides" before making a decision on his status.

During his Thursday media briefing, offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said "he's never not been out there, so it would probably be a surprise," if Favre were not to play in the game.

Favre broke two small bones in his left ankle during last Sunday's game at Green Bay -- his 291st straight start under center -- and was seen limping off the field after the loss.

The Vikings are currently 2-4 and sit in third place in the NFC North.

For the season, he has connected on 58.1 percent of his passes for 1,191 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

If Favre is unable to go, Tarvaris Jackson is set to make his first start since the 2008 campaign.

Guard Steve Hutchinson (quadriceps) was limited in Thursday's practice after sitting out Wednesday while center John Sullivan (calf), defensive tackle Pat Williams (quad) and cornerback Lito Sheppard (hand) were limited participants for a second straight day.
