CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams suffered a sprained foot in Sunday's 23-20 win over the San Francisco 49ers and is listed as day-to-day, head coach John Fox announced on Monday.
The five-year pro hurt the foot when he landed awkwardly on a short run on the final series of the game, which the Panthers (1-5) eventually won on a 37-yard field goal by John Kasay with 39 seconds remaining.
Williams rushed for a team-best 44 yards on 19 carries.
If Williams is unable to go at St. Louis on Sunday, Jonathan Stewart could move into the starting role. Mike Goodson is listed as the third-string running back on the Panthers' depth chart.
