METAIRIE, La. -- New Orleans Saints cornerback Randall Gay is reportedly done for the season due to recurring symptoms from a concussion he suffered earlier in the campaign.

The New Orleans Times Picayune is reporting that Gay has been placed on injured reserve due to problems stemming from a concussion he suffered in a Week 2 game against San Francisco.

Gay was held out of the Week 3 contest against Atlanta, but returned to play the next two games. He was again out for last Sunday's win against Tampa Bay and consulted with team physicians and independent doctors before it was decided to place him on injured reserve.

In his seventh season out of LSU, he had just five tackles in four games this season.

To take his spot on the roster, the team signed cornerback Quincy Butler.
