NFL starters and scratches for Oct. 17, 2010.

Raiders RB McFadden sidelined for Sunday's game

Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden is inactive for Sunday's game against San Francisco.

McFadden was limited in practice all week by a hamstring injury that also caused him to miss last week's game against San Diego.

He amassed 554 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns through the first four weeks of the season.

Michael Bush, who ran for 104 yards and caught three passes for 31 yards in McFadden's absence last week, will again serve as the primary ball carrier for the Raiders.

Guard Robert Gallery, who has missed the last four games because of a hamstring injury, will return to the lineup against the 49ers.

Cleveland WR Cribbs exits Sunday's game

Cleveland Browns wide receiver/kick returner Josh Cribbs suffered a head injury in Sunday's game against the Steelers and will not return.

Cribbs had just been inserted into the game about five minutes into the second quarter to run a play from the Wildcat formation.

He was able to avoid a hit from LaMarr Woodley but then took a direct shot to the left side of his head from James Harrison that dislodged the football, though the Browns recovered.

Cribbs was examined by the team's medical staff on the sidelines before being taken to the locker room for further evaluation. He was then ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Bears LB Briggs inactive against Seattle

Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs is inactive for Sunday's game with the Seattle Seahawks.

Briggs, who missed practice all of last week, continues to battle an ankle problem. He recorded five tackles and one sack in last Sunday's 23-6 win at Carolina.

In addition, guard Roberto Garza (knee surgery) will also miss the contest, while safety Major Wright (hamstring) will sit out for the fourth straight week.

Rodgers to start, Matthews inactive for Pack

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is active and expected to start Sunday's game against Miami after suffering a concussion last week against Washington.

The Packers, however, will be without linebacker Clay Matthews because of a hamstring injury, while offensive tackle Mark Tauscher is out with a shoulder problem and defensive end Ryan Pickett is also sidelined because of an ankle issue.

Rodgers suffered the injury last week in overtime against the Redskins, after he took a hit while throwing an interception that led to the winning points in Green Bay's 16-13 loss. He missed practice Wednesday, but returned on Thursday and also participated Friday.

O'Hara active; Tynes out for Giants

New York Giants center Shaun O'Hara is active and expected to start Sunday against the Detroit Lions after missing the past three games with ankle and Achilles injuries.

The Giants will also have a new kicker for the game, as Lawrence Tynes is inactive because of a sprained ankle on his plant leg. Shayne Graham, signed on Saturday, will handle the kicking chores.

Linebacker Keith Bulluck is also out because of a toe injury.

Ravens DT Ngata active

Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata was active for Sunday's contest against the New England Patriots.

The fifth-year pro out of Oregon suffered a mild sprain of the MCL in his left knee in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's game against Denver.

He was out of practice Wednesday but limited on Thursday and Friday.

In addition, Baltimore listed cornerback Josh Wilson as inactive for the contest. Wilson has been hampered by a hamstring injury and took limited reps in practice on Thursday and Friday.

Seahawks list DT Mebane as inactive

The Seattle Seahawks listed defensive tackle Brandon Mebane as inactive for Sunday's contest against the Chicago Bears.

Mebane has been dealing with a calf injury, which was aggravated during practice on Thursday. Kentwan Balmer will get the start in his place.

Seattle also listed defensive back Nate Ness, cornerback Kennard Cox, defensive end E.J. Wilson, tight end Anthony McCoy, guard Chester Pitts, offensive tackle Breno Giacomini and lineman Allen Barbre as inactive.

McCoy to start for Browns

The Cleveland Browns will start rookie Colt McCoy at quarterback for Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, as both Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace are listed as inactive.

McCoy, who set numerous records at the University of Texas, will be the third different starting quarterback for the Browns this season.

Delhomme was the starter in the club's opener, but suffered a sprained ankle in the loss to Tampa Bay. Wallace started the next four games, but injured his ankle last week against Atlanta and Delhomme also reinjured his ankle in the contest.

Both Delhomme and Wallace missed practice this week, leaving the newly-signed Brett Ratliff as McCoy's backup.

The Browns will also be without offensive tackle John St. Clair and defensive end Robaire Smith. St. Clair has an ankle problem and Smith has a back issue.

Running back Peyton Hillis, listed as questionable on the injury report with a thigh problem, is active.
