Lions TE Scheffler gets contract extension

Detroit, MI – The Detroit Lions have signed tight end Tony Scheffler to a three-year contract extension.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the deal includes a $2 million signing bonus.

Scheffler has made 24 catches for 212 yards and one touchdown in his first season with the Lions after being acquired in a three-team trade in April.

The five-year veteran has made 162 receptions for 2,108 yards and 15 scores after spending the first four years of his career with the Denver Broncos.
