FOXBORO, Mass. -- The New England Patriots on Tuesday announced the trade that brings wide receiver Deion Branch back from the Seattle Seahawks.

The Patriots said they acquired Branch for an undisclosed draft choice, thought previous reports have it as a fourth-round pick.

New England sent Branch to Seattle in exchange for a first-round draft choice prior to the 2006 season. He signed a six-year, $39 million contract with the Seahawks, but did not have much success with them due to a series of injuries.

Branch played in 47 games during the 2006-2009 seasons and had his best season in his first year in Seattle, a 53-catch, 725-yard campaign.

In four games this year, the 31-year-old has 13 catches for 112 yards and one touchdown.

The Super Bowl XXXIX MVP for New England has amassed 403 catches for 5,091 yards and 29 touchdowns over his eight-plus seasons in the NFL.
