INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Colts safety Melvin Bullitt is reportedly out for the rest of the year with a shoulder injury.
The Indianapolis Star cites the player's agent in reporting that Bullitt will have surgery on a broken shoulder bone within the next two weeks, and will be placed on injured reserve. He suffered the injury Sunday against Jacksonville.
Bullitt, helping to fill in for the injured Bob Sanders, started three of the Colts' four games this season. He totaled 20 tackles and one interception.
