ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills on Friday released veteran linebacker Kawika Mitchell from the team's injured reserve list.

On Sept. 10, Mitchell was placed on injured reserve with a foot injury that he suffered in practice.

The South Florida product has spent the past two seasons with the Bills after also playing for Kansas City and the New York Giants. Over 21 games for Buffalo, the 6-foot-1, 253-pound linebacker posted 117 tackles, four sacks, two interceptions, and a pair of forced fumbles.

A torn quadriceps forced Mitchell to miss the final 11 games in 2009.

In 96 career games (86 starts), Mitchell has 487 tackles, 12 sacks, and six interceptions.
