FOXBOROUGH - How do two publicity hogs like Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco suddenly disappear in a stadium stuffed with almost 70,000 people?

That’s exactly what happened Sunday with one second remaining before halftime of New England’s 38-24 victory over Cincinnati at Gillette Stadium.

With the Pats having just missed a field goal, the Bengals’ self-proclaimed Batman and Robin were seen running down the tunnel to the dressing room while quarterback Carson Palmer was preparing to heave one final Hail Mary before the gun.

What gives, T.O.?

“Coach said he would address that,” Owens said.

How about it, Ocho?

“Everything I have to say, Terrell will relay for me,” Ochocinco said.

Let’s get this straight. Owens was talking for Chad. And coach Marvin Lewis was talking for Owens.

Confusing.

According to Lewis, both players went into the room to have things checked. Of course, he wouldn’t say what things.

In the end, it was a record day for both of Cincy’s prima donna wideouts.

Ochocinco recorded 12 grabs for 159 yards and a touchdown, becoming the 33rd player in NFL history to pass 10,000 career receiving yards. Owens, meanwhile, made seven receptions for 53 yards, becoming the third receiver to reach the 15,000-yard milestone.
