MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Vikings have acquired wide receiver Greg Camarillo from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for cornerback Benny Sapp.

The deal will be complete once both players pass a physical.

Minnesota was in much need of a wide receiver after learning Tuesday that Sidney Rice is expected to miss at least half the season following hip surgery.

The Vikings recently signed veteran wide receiver Javon Walker to begin to fill the void at wide receiver.

Camarillo played in 16 games for Miami last year, catching 50 passes for 552 yards. The Stanford product has caught 113 passes for 1,325 yards and four touchdowns over 42 career games with the Chargers and Dolphins.

Sapp has appeared in 86 career contests with the Chiefs and Vikings, recording 169 tackles, four interceptions, and 2 1/2 sacks.
