ANDERSON In. - Colts owner Jim Irsay intimated center Jeff Saturday may not be recovered from knee surgery in time to start the regular season following Tuesday's morning practice.

Saturday underwent arthroscopic knee surgery to remove a loose body on Tuesday and Irsay told the Indianapolis Star the recovery time is likely 2-to-6 weeks. The latter half of that time frame would take the four-time Pro Bowl selection outside of the Sept. 12 opener against Houston.

An 11-year veteran, Saturday has missed just six games since becoming the starter in 2000. The North Carolina product has spent his entire career with the Colts.
