Pat MacDonald is still on Cloud Nine.
From being a walk-on at the University of Alberta with no long-snapping game experience to the NFL in two years, his life has suddenly changed for the better.
"I haven't come back to the ground yet," said the former Bear who signed with the New Orleans Saints on the weekend.
As first reported in the Sun, it's a three-year-deal with MacDonald hoping to stick as a long snapper.
"Like I told the Saints, I am going to come down there and make sure they don't regret (signing me)," said the 25-year-old.
Although some teams carry two long snappers, MacDonald is going against Kevin Houser, one of the NFL's elite players at the position.
At 29, Houser is an eight-year veteran with a contract until 2010.
There's a chance MacDonald could be chosen in tomorrow's CFL draft.
