Handed their lunch

Thank God for the all-you-can-eat seafood buffet -- it was the only place to get your money's worth in Seattle last week. Trust me on that.

Seahawks fans were forced to flood the exits early after taking a beating from the Buffalo Bills and this week's Monday matchup against the Cowboys is Seattle's last shot at earning some respect.

Here are this week's picks.

* HOUSTON NL AT N.Y. JETS: Houston showed guts in a comeback win over Tennessee last week but it's tough to score against New York's defence. The return of QB Chad Pennington may happen this week. Jets 23, Texans 16.

* CINCINNATI +61/2 AT BALTIMORE: Cincinnati won't put up 58 points on Baltimore and its defence doesn't play as well on the road as it does at home. Ravens 24, Bengals 17.

* ARIZONA +51/2 AT DETROIT: Against an injury-riddled Arizona team, Detroit quarterback Joey Harrington should be able to get back on track. Lions fans should give the kid a break. He's done a good job considering the mix-and-match wide receiver situation Harrington's faced all year. Lions 26, Cardinals 17.

* TENNESSEE +101/2 AT INDIANAPOLIS: Don't count out the possibility of Peyton Manning breaking Dan Marino's single-season mark of 48 touchdown passes during this game. The Titans secondary is banged up and Manning needs only seven scores to tie the record. Colts 41, Titans 28.

* MINNESOTA -7 AT CHICAGO: Watch the weather report for this game but count on Minnesota airing it out either way. With Randy Moss back in action last week, the Vikings looked like the powerhouse predicted in the pre-season. Vikings 28, Bears 12.

* BUFFALO -3 AT MIAMI: Willis McGahee's Miami homecoming should be a pleasant one. His mom and about 100 friends and family members will be in the stands cheering on the Bills running back --about 100 fans more than the Dolphins will have cheering for them at the game. Bills 21, Dolphins 13.

* ATLANTA +1 AT TAMPA BAY: As odd as it seems, Tampa Bay is among a handful of 4-7 NFC teams with an outside chance at making the playoffs. This divisional matchup is a must-win for the Bucs to stay in the hunt. Buccaneers 26, Falcons 24.

* SAN FRANCISCO +101/2 AT ST. LOUIS: Nothing eases the pain of a Monday Night Football loss like a game against the 49ers. Rams 38, 49ers 26.

* KANSAS CITY +11/2 AT OAKLAND: Snowy conditions helped the Raiders in a comeback victory in Denver last week. This week, at home against the Chiefs, Oakland may not need heroics. Raiders 28, Chiefs 24.

* DENVER +3 AT SAN DIEGO: Despite losing 23-13 to the Broncos in Week 3, the Chargers find themselves favoured this week. Shows how far San Diego has come this season. Chargers 27, Broncos 23.

* N.Y. GIANTS +2 AT WASHINGTON: Fantasy teams across North America are hoping this is the week Redskins running back Clinton Portis finally springs to life. Redskins 17, Giants 14.

* GREEN BAY +6 AT PHILADELPHIA: The Packers are on a roll but the Eagles are winning even when Terrell Owens has a bad game. That's just scary. Eagles 30, Packers 21.

* PITTSBURGH -31/2 AT JACKSONVILLE: If Ben Roethlisberger plays as poorly as he did during the last couple of weeks, Pittsburgh may finally lose a game. A sixth last-minute victory directed by Byron Leftwich is in the cards. Jaguars 23, Steelers 21.

* DALLAS +7 AT SEATTLE: Coach Mike Holmgren will almost certainly lose his job if the Seahawks fall to the Cowboys on Monday Night Football. Dallas' defence can't hold a candle to Buffalo's. Seahawks 28, Cowboys 24.

UPSET OF THE WEEK

* CAROLINA +11/2 AT NEW ORLEANS: Can Carolina win its fourth straight game after a 1-7 start? In today's NFL, anything is possible -- especially against the uninspired Saints. Panthers 21, Saints 20.

WEEK'S BEST BET

* NEW ENGLAND -71/2 AT CLEVELAND: Kelly Holcomb did a nice job filling in for Jeff Garcia but cracked some ribs in the process. Nothing has gone well for the Browns this season. Patriots 31, Browns 9.
