MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. - They came here riding the Luck of the Irish, an undefeated season and supreme faith in themselves that they were bringing Notre Dame football back to prominence.
Instead, after just minutes on college football’s biggest pulpit, the Fighting Irish were administered their last rites.
Showing no mercy -- and certainly no fear -- for their opponent’s 12-0 regular season and No. 1 ranking entering Monday’s BCS Championship game, Alabama once again proved they are the gold standard of NCAA football.
