Bowled over

Quick, ladies, hide the remote! The annual onslaught of U.S. college football bowl games begins in earnest today.

This year, Canadians can watch 19 of the remaining 21 post-season NCAA games. That's thanks mainly to The Score and TSN (bless them), who are picking up most of ESPN's feeds.

Only one bowl game matters, as far as the national title is concerned. That's the last one, the Rose Bowl, a week from tomorrow.

It pits two-time defending national champ and season-long No. 1 Southern Cal against season-long No. 2 Texas.

It's a collision of the only remaining unbeatens. For the first time in NCAA history two Heisman Trophy winners will suit up on the same team. USC QB Matt Leinart won it last year, RB Reggie Bush this year.

This year's Heisman runnerup, Vince Young of Texas, is seriously bummed about not winning, but you'd be foolish to bet against the big-game-loving Trojans.
