WINNIPEG - The past is dead to Blue Bombers head coach Mike O'Shea and so, apparently, is the future.

There's only the here and now, a game tonight against the reeling Montreal Alouettes from a pitiful CFL East Division.

Among the trivial details he's imploring his players to ignore:

  • The Bombers are 5-3 and are coming off a pair of losses
  • The Alouettes are 1-6 and are on a five-game losing streak
  • The West has dominated the East to the tune of a 23-3 record so far this season
  • The Bombers are in an extremely tight division, where a win or a loss could mean the difference between first and last place
  • The Bombers need a win to get back on track before their toughest stretch of the schedule, with most games against rivals from the West

All those factors could lead one to believe the Bombers have to beat the Alouettes this week.
