WINNIPEG - When the Bombers trotted out their latest new jersey on Tuesday afternoon, communications co-ordinator Kim Babij-Gesell said the organization will “always be blue and gold.”

Well, except for this Friday night against the Montreal Alouettes.

The Bombers’ new jerseys, unveiled as part of the CFL’s and Reebok’s Signature Uniforms series, are mostly blue. No gold. Fans quickly took to social media to lambaste the look, ripping it for making it appear too much like what the Toronto Argonauts would wear.

“Please post shot inside garbage can. Right where they belong,” @Iam_Canadian wrote on Twitter. “Thought we were/are the Blue and Gold? Double Blue is the #Argos. The @CFL should be embarrassed to allow this to be trotted out.”

Defensive end Jason Vega, who along with quarterback Drew Willy modelled the new look in front of the media at Investors Group Field, disagrees with anyone who thinks they would be mistaken for the Boatmen.
