Nick Moore had no reason to circle Friday’s date on the calendar or to try and prove the B.C. Lions were wrong.

He is, after all, the one who left the Lions in free agency, even though the Leos wanted to bring him back at a nice price. If anything, the Lions will be the ones out to prove to Moore that he made a mistake in leaving the West Coast for more money on the Prairies.

That being said, Moore felt he needed a fresh start with a new team after three roller-coaster seasons with the Lions, even though he led B.C. with 1,105 receiving yards last season.

“Started out in 2010 on the practice roster. I came up when the roster expanded,” Moore said. “Made the roster in 2011, got put on the practice roster in 2011 when we won the Grey Cup. Made the roster in 2012, but I was behind Geroy (Simon), played a couple games, ended up doing well, and then 2013 was my first full year starting.

“It was a little bit up and down, but I can’t complain about it.
