When the Winnipeg Blue Bombers came back from a 25-20 deficit through three quarters on Thursday night, it marked the first time since 2012 they won a game when trailing going into the fourth and final frame.

Last season the Bombers trailed after the third quarter 12 times. They lost each and every game, and they usually didn't put up much of a fight.

"It took us a while to wake up, but we just kept grinding and grinding and grinding," head coach Mike O'Shea said after Thursday's 36-28 triumph over the Ottawa RedBlacks. "It's very important for the guys who were here last year to be able to win differently. So once again, I'm very excited for those guys. I'm excited for the whole team. They did a great job."
