Jordan Brescacin has already gone to great lengths to chase his football dream.

By virtue of having an Italian passport, Brescacin was considered a local in the American Football League of Finland, suiting up in nine games with the Helsinki Wolverines.

“It was June and I was waiting for a call and it was kind of a spur of the moment thing. Within a week of getting the call, I was on a plane across the Atlantic,” said Brescacin, who set an OUA record in 2012 for receptions as a member of the Windsor Lancers. “It was awesome. It had everything that you would expect from a European city and it was fun to get out there and continue to play football.”

Brescacin’s Wolverines reached the championship final before losing to Helsinki’s other team, the Roosters.

“It’s a big rivalry there between the two teams,” he said. “Losing in the championship was unfortunate but it was still a great experience.”
